Frequently Asked Questions
How many lessons will it take to teach my 5-year-old?
If your child is 4-6 years old and enjoys swimming they are most likely going to learn their objective in 6-8 lessons. If a child is timid and has anxiety toward swimming then it will be closer to 8-10.
What ages do you teach?
Happy Fins Swim School teaches 1-year-olds introduction to water – bubbles, holding on the side of the pool, kicks, and lots of fun to enjoy the experience for future swimming.
Do you have a pool?
Happy FIns does not currently have a pool. We are excited to be mobile and have your children learn in the comfort of their pool.
What should we bring for swim lessons?
We encourage children to have goggles, a towel, and sunscreen.
How can I prepare my child for swim lessons?
We love that you are already thinking about swim lessons! A good place to prepare them is bath time, have them get kicks and bubbles in and they will have a headstart for their first lesson.
What kind of swim lessons do you teach?
At Happy Fins Swim School we balance a Red Cross Swim School and Utah Swim Academy curriculum – we teach the fundamental strokes (front crawl, backstroke, and breaststroke) while also putting a focus on making sure each child has survival swimming skills, such as back floats and treading water.
Do you teach group or co-private lessons?
At Happy Fins we focus on each child’s progress and we find that private lessons are the best route for that and will lead to more successful outcomes.
